Job Description

Position Summary: 
Responsible for implementing the store strategy and action plan to maximize productivity and profitability. Directs daily operations including fiscal responsibility, staffing, donations scheduling and processing, security, pricing, merchandising and maintaining the facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Operations
•Safeguards all items and funds (including credit information).
•Ensures that sales and net revenue goals are met on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
•Completes all tracking and reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
•Participates in community activities and maintains strong stakeholder relationships.
•Schedules donation pick-ups, drop-offs and client services.
•Enforces and communicates policies and procedures.

Employee Relations
•Contributes to creating a safe and secure store environment.
•Reviews security tapes for suspicious activity.
•In conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator, creates volunteer opportunities.
•Ensures proper staffing with trained associates and determines daily priorities and tasks.
•Schedules and manages volunteer pool to maximize effectiveness.

Merchandising
•Supports development of pricing guidelines to drive revenue and customer traffic.
•Creates and recommends ideas to meet Agency objectives.
•Manages the merchandising to optimize selling space and maximize revenue.
•Ensures donations are received, recorded and sorted according to procedures.
•Optimizes production and inventory in a safe and efficient manner.

Other Duties:Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Requirements: Associates Degree in Business or similar related field and at least 3 years of retail experience in a management role. Previous resale shop experience preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Texas Driver’s License

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Knowledge of retail operations management, including merchandising and service; ability to use business equipment (PC, cash register, credit card machine, etc.).
•Proficiency in numeric reasoning skills (percentages, averages, etc.).
•Knowledge of store design and merchandising.
•Ability to make informed decisions, complete tasks and problem solve.
•Ability to create and manage employee relations.
•Ability to create and manage employee and volunteer scheduling.
•Ability to create a pleasant environment for shopping and employees.
•Knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
•Strong customer service and leadership skills.
•Ability to meet the operational needs of the store including evenings and weekends.

Mental and Physical Abilities:
Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds of clothing and/or house wares (which may be large or bulky) on and off of retail fixtures such as shelving up to six (6) feet high and clothing racks up to four (4) feet high and z-racks up to six (6) feet high.
Able to work weekends and some evenings.

Working Conditions:
Duties are performed in a retail, office and warehouse like setting with exposure to dust.   Occasional periods of standing or walking. Physical effort is required associated with lifting and carrying objects (less than 35 lbs).
